The key to cost-effective group benefit programs is design. Designing to ensure that the plan(s) to fit the needs and budgets of our clients in the long-term (as well as the short-term) is a priority. We get to know the client, the business, the employees, and the client's goals to better understand their situation and design the proper program.
Often, poor planning and design result in significant (and sometimes prohibitive) cost increases in later years. Although such increases can occur even with the best of plans, we attempt to minimize such problems by planning beyond the next plan year.In addition, it is easy to forget that a combination of designs may work better than just one comprehensive plan. Some carriers facilitate multi-designs, and new FSA and HSA rules may make it advantageous to use a combination of products to achieve the desired results. Particularly for small and mid-sized business owners, such plans may offer significant tax advantages.
